200 hour Yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, India. Om Yoga Academy provides Yoga Alliance Certified 200 hour Yoga Teacher training programmes in the holy town of Rishikesh. This course is for everyone, even if you have very little experience of Yoga. It lasts 28 days, and each student leaves with a universally recognised and valid yoga teacher certificate. Rishikesh and Om Yoga Academy is the perfect place to take your personal practice and understanding of Hatha Yoga deeper. Whether you want to teach or not, the 200 hour yoga teacher training (YTT) course is an experience not to be missed! You will leave with a solid foundation in the principles of Hatha Yoga that will develop your self practice and your teaching skills.
This comprehensive teacher training course offers a detailed insight into Yoga. The course covers all eight limbs of Yoga as put forward by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras. The teacher training certification (TTC) encompasses all aspects of yoga; on and off the mat. As a result, the YTT course covers the physical, spiritual and ethical dimensions of Yoga.
The Aim of our Yoga Teacher Training
Our 200 hour yoga teacher training is based around the ancient teachings of hatha yoga. The teachers have a vast experience in teaching the 200 hour yoga teacher training course; with over 1000 students trained personally under them.
Om Yoga Academy teaches traditional hatha yoga. There is also a strong focus on safe alignment and the use of props. Additionally, the school takes a modern approach to human anatomy and individual skeletal variation. Furthermore, we do not force students to fit into a box of how their bodies should behave and move. This couples perfectly with our small class sizes, and ensures each student’s body is individually assessed and handled appropriately. Besides the asana practice (yoga poses), yoga philosophy, yoga anatomy, pranayama (breathing techniques – literally the extension of the life force), meditation and kriya (cleansing techniques) are all explored on the course. The Academy also teaches practical teaching skills. This includes, sequencing, adjustments and variations. On top of all of that, on each Saturday the school holds a special introductory Ayurveda class.
Having completed the yoga teacher training certification (YTTC), you will then be ready to embark on a journey that will take your yoga practice and teaching to a whole new level. The 200 hour yoga teacher training course offers more than just knowledge. It will also give you self-confidence, which will help you to evolve into a spontaneous yoga teacher, and help develop your own individual teaching style.

Requirements for Yoga Teacher Training
Prior experience of Yoga is recommended, but is not a necessity. The Yoga teacher training (YTT) certification will require a base level of fitness. However, what is truly important, is that students come to Rishikesh with an open heart and a willingness to embrace the teachings of Yoga.
Students, no matter what their experience in the practice of Yoga, should come as exactly that; students. One must come with an empty cup ready to be filled. We want to provide an environment that is warm, free from judgement, and conducive to learning. Wisdom and love can only truly flow once this has been established.
